We have exciting news and fantastic results from the Fire Fighters Charity regarding clothing banks located at our fire stations.
The charity has released the latest information on their recycling banks showing that our Service has raised an amazing £8,428, with the help of residents.
Clothes recycling for The Fire Fighters Charity has enjoyed more than ten years of continued growth, generating £4.6million across the UK (up to March 2021), re-diverting over 26,000 tonnes of unwanted clothing away from landfill.
East Sussex FRS has supported the charity by collecting more than 48 tonnes of clothing for re-sell, re-use or recycled since 2019.
The charity’s Sales & Recycling Manager says: “Thank you for your contribution of £8,428 … totally amazing!
“The clothing banks will also have a ‘performance poster’ placed on the bank, informing supporters and fire station crews how much their fire station clothing bank has generated.
"This is such a fantastic achievement, thank you to everyone across your fire stations and the general public who have supported our Clothes recycling scheme.
“As we head up and over £5million through the donation of unwanted clothing from all fire stations across the UK and with your continued support, we can continue driving this income stream to even higher levels over the coming years.
Thank you so much for your support.”
