Crews are currently tackling a scrap metal fire a Ripleys Scrap Metal merchants at Westfield Lane, Westfield near Hastings.
As of 18:00 four appliances are on the scene along with an aerial ladder platform dealing with the deep-seated fire in 600 tons of scrap metal.
Residents are being asked to keep all doors and windows shut.
