This Hoarding Awareness Week, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is asking households to do Just One Thing for the Fire Fighters Charity.
It’s hoped anyone doing their spring clean or having a big tidy-up will drop off clothes and other items at special collection banks which can be found at eight of its Community Fire Stations.

More than 2.5 million people are unable to use the rooms in their home for their intended purpose. This can be a serious fire risk, making it more difficult for firefighters to deal with any incidents as well as making it harder for people to get out safely.
If clutter, disorganisation or hoarding is affecting the health (mental or physical health) of you or someone you know, and making you feel anxious, depressed or unwell, then it’s advisable to have a chat with your GP.
Knowing that items are going to a good home can help people make decisions about parting with belongings, and that’s why we’re asking people to consider the Fire Fighters Charity for donations of clothing and other items.
What the charity would love!
The charity would love donations of clean adults and children’s clothes, including paired shoes, socks and underwear, as well as handbags and linen/bed sheets etc. Money raised from the donations helps current and former members of fire and rescues services, and their families.
