We are supporting National No Smoking Day

Date : 09 March 2022

No Smoking.jpg

The last two years have been difficult for all of us, but if you have decided now is the time to quit there is plenty of FREE support to help smokers to seize the moment and look forward to a smoke free future.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue also wants to raise awareness of fire safety issues around smoking.

Cigarettes and other smoking products cause a third of all accidental fire fatalities in the home – the biggest killer in accidental fires.

Please encourage your friends and family to sign up to a FREE home safety visit.

Not everyone is aware of situations in the home that can increase fire risks, and our trained staff give friendly advice, and can fit smoke alarms/ carbon monoxide detectors.

If you are not sure about quitting, research has shown that stopping smoking gives you more energy. Within 2 to 12 weeks of stopping smoking, your blood circulation improves. You'll also give a boost to your immune system, making it easier to fight off colds and flu. The increase in oxygen in the body can also reduce tiredness and the likelihood of headaches.

Let this be the year to give it a go!
