Car fire - A27 near Drusillas roundabout

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called at 6.47am 9 November 2025 to reports of a car fire near the Drusillas roundabout on the A27.

On arrival crews confirmed there had been a road traffic collision between two cars and one had caught alight.

They used breathing apparatus to put the fire out and a hose reel jet, as well as cutting gear.

They also gave first aid assistance to two people.

Police and ambulance also attended the scene.

Crews returned to the scene after reports of smoke from the car. Police used a fire extinguisher and no fire was found on arrival of the fire engine.

The road is likely to be closed for most of the morning.

The scene has been handed over to Sussex Police.
