East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Eastbourne Pier at 12.41 today.
Crews used a hose reel to put out a fire affecting a small area of decking and joists.
As of 13.22 they were cutting away and damping down to ensure the fire was all out.
There are no reports of any injuries.
