Love your appliance? Get it registered at registermyappliance.org.uk
Did you know there are over 40 million large appliances in UK households that remain unregistered? By not registering their appliances, households may miss out on crucial safety updates and repair information.
With an estimated 133 million fridges, washing machines, and ovens in use across the UK, nearly a third of households have never - or rarely - registered their large appliances. This makes it incredibly challenging to trace them in the event of a safety recall or repair.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is proudly supporting Register My Appliance Week (20th to 26th January 2025) and urging households to take action.
By registering appliances - whether new, old, nearly new, or even second-hand - you help ensure that manufacturers can contact you promptly if safety issues arise, extending the safe lifespan of your machines.
The Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances (AMDEA) offers an easy and free solution: the Register My Appliance portal. Accessible online, this tool connects users with over 70 leading brands, many of which accept registrations for both new and older appliances.
Benefits of registering your appliance:
- Improved home fire safety.
- Notifications of recalls.
- Peace of mind knowing you’ll be alerted if a safety repair is needed.
- Quick and free registration process.
Improve safety in your home and for those around you by registering your appliances today!
