East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called at 9.08pm this evening, 18 October 2024, to reports of a fire at a domestic property in Saxon Close, Hailsham.
Four fire engines have been sent to the scene with firefighters from Herstmonceux, Pevensey and Eastbourne currently in attendance.
Members of the public are asked to avoid the area and local residents to keep windows and doors closed.
A further update will appear on our website at 10.30pm.
UPDATE: Firefighters have been using 4 breathing apparatus and 1 hosereel jet to extinguish the fire.
As of 10.12pm crews are damping down and turning over to ensure the fire is completely out.
There are no casualties reported.
