Drinking alcohol can put young people in vulnerable or dangerous situations.
Research shows that among 10 – 17 year olds who have had an alcoholic drink, 12% have experienced a serious harm as a result of their drinking (trouble with the police, being a victim of crime, been taken to hospital or getting into a fight).
Being impaired by alcohol is thought to be a contributory factor in 13% of pedestrian road deaths.
Safety in Action events promote Alcohol Safety with the support of The East Sussex School Health Service.
