Firewise

The Firewise programme provided by East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is aimed at children and young people who:

  • have been involved in firesetting behaviour
  • are at risk of becoming involved in firesetting behaviour
  • are considered to have an ‘unusual’ or ‘unhealthy’ fascination with fire
  • have a fear of fire
  • have any other specific issue related to fire or firesetting

Trained Firewise Advisors work with children and young people, to help them learn the dangers of fire and the potential consequences of misusing fire. Sessions can take place at home (arranged in advance with parents and carers), at school (arranged in advance with school) or in other appropriate settings.
