Water Safety

Water Safety

Drowning is the third highest cause of death in children in the UK.

The most recent figures from the National Water Safety Forum Water Incident Database (WAID) show that in 2018, 263 people lost their lives in accidental drownings in the UK. 24 drownings were those between the ages of 0-19.

Safety in Action events promote Water Safety with the support of Wave Leisure, Hastings and Eastbourne Voluntary Lifeguards, RLSS & RNLI.

RLSS Sussex

The RLSS Sussex Branch www.rlss-sussex.co.uk  has many members in East Sussex who can help and offer advice at this current time. Once clubs re-open, practical help and training can also be given.
