Phases of change


The Changing the Service, Shaping our Future programme had three phases.

Phase 1

Proposals where the impact of any changes in terms of service delivery was assessed to be low, could be progressed through normal day to day business without the need for formal external consultation and were expected to deliver the bulk of the required savings in 2014/15 and 2015/16.

Phase 2

Proposals which had a greater impact on individuals and possibly service users as they proposed major changes to service provision but have had to be developed in order to allow the Authority to make the bulk of the savings required from 2015/16.

A number of these proposals required external consultation.

Phase 3

Areas for further review and investigation where formal proposals for change and potential savings were brought to the Fire Authority for approval during 2014/15, with the expectation that further savings could be realised from 2015/16 onwards.

Public consultation                    

A public consultation on Phases Two and Three took place between 17 February and Monday 28 April 2014.
